ALORA, Valle del Sol
| Alora, known as Valley of the sun,
is 40 km. inland from Malaga and the Costa del Sol. One of the white
towns and villages of the Guadalhorce Valley, it is built over three
hills, one of which is majestically crowned with a Moorish castle.
|
|
 |
With warm temperatures all year around , the Valley produces
delicious oranges, tangarines and lemons that coat the Valley bottom
in green.
The Valley is surrounded
by hills covered mainly with olive and almond trees.
|
|
The town has developed modern
facilities such as a Medical center, supermarkets, restaurants,
banks, shops, a sports complex and a public swimming pool.
|

|
 |
With
its steep streets and white houses, the town has an unique Andalusian
flavour.
The local people, known as "Perotes", are noted for their
friendliness and hospitality. |
| In spite of
the tourist development on the Costa del Sol, Alora
has managed to retain its individuality and traditional
way of life. |
